He has several books with animals and they are easily his favorites right now. Maybe it's the animals...maybe, and more likely, it's the interaction between him pointing and us making a silly noise when he does...
Talan has taken to throwing things. It started with balls (not too hard) then it progressed to those plastic easter eggs (slightly harder) and now it's anything that he can get his hands on (ie: hotwheels - ouch!). We're working on getting him to throw these items in a plastic bowl instead of at a particular person and when he does, his average is better than mine would be (This kid just might be a future NFL quarterback!). He easily bores of this, though and wants to throw the item AT you and have you throw it back AT him. Needless to say, we have some teaching to do.
Talan has really been wanting to be involved in all the cooking and cleaning duties that we do around the house. He gets upset if we don't let him help. He wants to be right in the middle of what's going on...I hope he'll be this enthusiastic about house chores when he gets old enough to REALLY help ;).
We really have to watch out now that Talan has figured out how to lift the lid on the toilet. Nothing has been flushed yet, but it's only a matter of time. He's so darn quick it's hard to keep up with him. I just have to follow in his wake, cleaning up after him as he goes from 1 thing to the next. It's rare that I can cut it off BEFORE it becomes a mess. He has also started trying to open doors using the doorknobs. Needless to say, the front door top lock will need to remain locked all day.
